What to Do When You Feel Stuck in Your Business
If you feel stuck in your business, you know it’s a terrible feeling. You might feel so unmotivated to work on your business tasks. You might feel frustrated and discouraged because you’re not sure why you aren’t making progress. No matter what these feelings bring up for you, you need to be able to move forward and get back to making amazing things happen. To help you out, I’m sharing a few tips that banish that unstuck feeling:
Figure out why you feel stuck.
You won’t always know why you feel stuck in your business, but it’s a good idea to start by analyzing your feelings. There may be a specific reason you’re feeling blocked and if you figure out what it is, you can resolve it quickly. You should also ask yourself if you’ve felt this way before. Is it the first time you’ve felt stuck or has it been a recurring issue? These questions will help you get to the root cause of your feelings. Some other things to consider are:
- Have you lost the passion for your work? Do you feel like you don’t have the same amount of passion you once had for the work you’re doing? Ask yourself if you need to change your direction or if you can reinvigorate the passion you once had.
- Do your goals no longer feel fulfilling? Things change as we grow and evolve in our businesses. Sometimes what was once important is no longer is a top priority. Ask yourself if you’re pursuing the right goals for you and your business or if you need to make a change. The goals you set should feel good to you. They should excite you.
Try something new.
Could adding something new to your business get you moving forward again? Consider pursuing a new project that makes you happy. Figure out what you would enjoy doing in your business and just go for it. Have you always wanted to create a YouTube channel? Have you been dying to get into podcasting? Whatever it is, just go for it without making any excuses. Sometimes doing something new that excites you can help you get unstuck and reinvigorate that love for your business.
Reach out to a coach or business bestie.
Sometimes when you feel stuck in your business, you just need to get a little help from an outside source. Talking to someone else and working through the issues you’re facing can be a major help in getting you unstuck. Find a coach you can work to help you break through any blocks in your business. A coach can help figure out what’s making you feel stuck and help you create a plan so you can finally move forward.
You can also choose to turn to a business bestie for guidance. If you don’t have one, you should definitely find someone to be your confidante. A business bestie is great because you’ll always have someone who understands the struggles we go through as entrepreneurs and will be there to bounce ideas off of.
Change your mindset.
If you feel stuck in your business, it could also be because of your own mindset. You might have some blocks or other negative thoughts that are holding you back. And if you want to get out of this funk, you have to sort through those feeling and push passed them. For me, I love to incorporate mantras or meditation into my daily life as a way to combat any bad feelings. They’re a fantastic way to shift your mindset and will surely leave you feeling motivated and in a positive state of mind.
Consider taking a hiatus.
One of the best ways to reevaluate things in your business is to just take a step back. Consider taking a mini break from your business. Give yourself a day or two off to take care of yourself and reflect on the direction you’re heading. Ask yourself those important questions to figure out why you’re feeling like you can’t move forward. Alternatively, you could even take a workcation to get out of your normal environment for a week or two. A change in perspective will leave you feeling refreshed and inspired.
Know that it happens to the best of us.
Finally, if you’re ever feeling stuck, don’t let it leave you feeling discouraged. Those feeling happen to the best of us from time to time. The important thing is that you don’t let it defeat you. Instead, you need to be able to figure out what’s causing these feelings so you can fix it.
