Can you believe August is already here? For me, the start of August means that my favorite time of year is right around the corner: my birthday, fall, and holidays. Although all of those things are exciting, it’s important that I don’t get too ahead of myself. Instead, I need to focus my attention right here in the month of August. Because the reality is, I have a lot of things planned for the remainder of the year.
I mentioned last month that I had outlined a few things I want to accomplish before 2017 comes to a close. In July, my focus was on launching . This month, September, and October are also going to be busy with launching new things. And I’m really excited for you all to see what’s in the works. Unfortunately, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to see what’s coming up in the months ahead. The good news is, you can still see what I’ll be working on this month!
1. Update My Coaching Packages & Launch Them
For a while now, I’ve been wanting to give my coaching packages a bit of an update. I’ve just been feeling like they need a refresher, especially as I work with more clients and discover what they truly need. My goal is to really refine what it is I want to help people with and create updated packages that reflect that. There won’t be any major changes, but minor tweaks instead. There will also still be three options for how you can work one-on-one with me.
At this time, I’m not sure when they’ll be ready to launch, but I’m aiming for the middle of the month. If you’re interested in working with me, you can always get on my waitlist, so you’ll be one of the first people able to book. All you have to do is send over an email and let me know you’d potentially like to do one-on-one coaching and I’ll be in touch!
2. Develop an Email Sequence for New Subscribers
Okay, I have a confession to make… When it comes to email marketing, I’ve been making one of the biggest mistakes you can make. I don’t have an email sequence that welcomes new subscribers to my list. Instead, they simply receive my opt-in freebie and the next time they’ll hear from me is in my weekly newsletter. Horrible, right?
It’s obviously not the end of the world, but failing to nurture new subscribers to your list is definitely a mistake. You’re missing out on a huge opportunity to build a relationship with these people. And that bugs me! Even though I’ve known for a long time that I need to develop an email sequence like this, it has always been pushed to the bottom of my to-do list.
This month, I’m committed to finally creating that email sequence and making it live. I already know exactly how I want to set it up. It’s just a matter of writing the emails and plugging them all into ConvertKit. It’s going to be set up in a way that truly allows me to get to know my subscribers while also delivering them the custom content they need at whatever stage of their business they’re in. Perhaps I’ll share the process with you all afterwards!
3. Consistently Create Valuable Content for My Blog, YouTube, & Newsletter
One of the most important things in my business is that I deliver valuable content to all of you who are following me online. And that’s going to be even more important as I gear up to launch my new coaching packages and the other projects that I’m working on in the coming months. Throughout August, I want to make sure I’m publishing content to my blog, my YouTube channel, and my email newsletter on a regular basis because that’s how I add value and connect with all of you.
It does get tricky though when you’re managing so many different content formats. Creating written content for blogs and newsletters takes time, but YouTube videos require even more. When you’re writing and editing blog posts and newsletters and filming and editing videos, you can easily get overloaded. To manage all of this, I’m striving to get back into my regular content creation routine of batching my writing so I can get even more done and stay on track.
4. Focus More on My Own Personal Development
I believe this was actually a goal I set for myself a few months back. I wanted to read more often and listen to podcasts regularly as a way to learn and grow, both personally and in my business. This is something I want to stick to throughout August as well. The reason for this is because we need to make time to invest back into ourselves. We don’t know everything, despite what we may think. There’s always more to learn and room to grow and improve our skills.
Last month, I finally got back into reading on a regular basis. I’m not sure why, but I had been in a bit of a reading funk for the past couple of years and only read a few books here and there. I used to be someone who consistently read two books a month (which I know isn’t a lot for some of you). To get back into reading feels good and leaves me with hope that I’ll finally read some of the ones collecting dust on my bookshelf. The two books that I read in July were * by Marty Neumeier and * by Gary Vaynerchuk, both of which I highly recommend.
I’ve already placed an order for the next two books I’m planning to read. Besides that, I’ll also be keeping up with some of my favorite podcasts. I enjoy listening to: Being Boss, Online Marketing Made Easy with Amy Porterfield, Smart Passive Income, The Goal Digger Podcast, and The GaryVee Audio Experience. There are others I love, but these are just a few favorites! I’ll definitely be sharing more of my go-to podcasts and books in upcoming blog posts.
5. Stick to a Fitness Routine
Another personal goal that’s important is focusing more on my health, both mentally and physically. You may have heard me mention in the past that I was diagnosed with an autoimmune thyroid disease, called Hashimoto’s. In fact, I found out about my thyroid issues in August of last year. Well, this particular disease greatly impacts my energy levels and my mood. One way I’ve found to combat that is through exercising on a regular basis, so I want to stick to a proper routine this month.
I enjoy going for walks through my neighborhood and doing morning yoga sessions. But as for following a set routine, Tone It Up is my go-to. I love the workouts that Karena and Katrina have put together, so I want to make sure I’m sticking to their daily plan as best as I possibly can. Not only will this ensure my body is healthy, but it’s going to keep me in the right state of mind as well because I’m always happier, more focused, and more productive when I exercise often.
