You have no idea how excited I am that September has finally arrived. Why? Well, it’s because September kicks off my absolute favorite time of the year. September is my birthday month, as well as the official start of fall (my favorite season). Then, the holiday countdown begins as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas grow nearer. There’s something to look forward to every single month, which is why this is the time of year I love the most.
But enough about that! It’s time to chat about the monthly goals I’ve set for myself in terms of my blog, business, and personal life. So, let’s quit wasting time and dive right in!
1. Make consistent content creation a top priority.
Lately, I’ve been a little sporadic when it comes to my content creation. Unfortunately, this happens sometimes when I get wrapped up in other projects. And I don’t want that to happen this month. I’ve planned out my editorial calendar for my blog posts. I have YouTube videos filmed and waiting to be edited. Basically, I’ve set myself up for success and now I just need to put in the work. And you know what? The thought of getting back to writing regularly has me pretty thrilled!
2. Revisit a passion project I started last year.
I don’t want to give anything away just yet because I’m not sure how this passion project is going to work out. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for years, but it always took a backseat to everything else. It was the project I told myself I’d pursue once everything else fell into place. Well, the reality is, if I want to ever do this thing, now is the time.
This project is something I began working on last year, but other things came up and got in the way. Ultimately, this was a good thing because I ended up rebranding late last year. And this would have been yet another thing I had to rebrand, which probably would have stopped me from ever changing my brand name.
Throughout September, I’m going to revisit this passion project to see if this is something that I truly want to pursue. There’s a lot to learn if I want to bring this thing to life (and quite a bit of work involved), but I’m excited to get started on it. If things go well, you’ll be seeing some of the behind-the-scenes very soon.
3. Create a morning routine that works for me.
If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you’ve probably heard me rave about by Hal Elrod. It’s a fantastic book and it truly made me see the importance of a morning routine. The right routine can boost energy levels, shift your mindset, and prime you for the day ahead. Although I think the morning routine Elrod suggests in the book is great, it just doesn’t suit me 100%.
The book encourages you to meditate, say affirmations, visualize, exercise, read, and journal every morning. Well, I prefer to read and journal in the evening and I don’t always want to start my day with exercise. Instead, I want to create a morning routine that incorporates meditation, affirmations, visualization, yoga, and a great breakfast. I’d also like to use my breakfast time as a chance to tune into shorter podcast episodes to get me ready for the day ahead. (Gary Vaynerchuck’s podcast is great for this!)
4. Focus more on my health and wellness.
This month, I want to make sure that my health is a top priority for me. Not only do I have an autoimmune thyroid disease to keep an eye on, but I’m very prone to burning out. It’s been incredibly busy lately and I want to make sure that I’m taking time for self-care too. For me, self-care looks like meditation, yoga, and time spent relaxing with a good book. In terms of my thyroid issues, I see my endocrinologist again in October. And I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my levels continue to stay on the right path.
My goal is to meditate on a daily basis, do yoga regularly, stick to Tone It Up’s workout schedule (because their videos are my favorite), and get outside for walks as much as possible. Doing these things not only keeps me healthier physically, but it’s also essential for my mindset and energy levels.
5. Take time to celebrate my birthday!
As I mentioned, my birthday is this month. I’ll be entering the last year of my 20s, which is a little nerve-wracking. However, I’m also excited for what’s to come in the year ahead. It’s important that I take time to celebrate and enjoy the time with those I care about and maybe treat myself to a gift or two! And you all should do the same when your birthday comes around next!
